Traditional Chinese martial art – Eight Great Spears

The first section (face south to east exercise).

In the martial arts routine, the eight-law spear belongs to the big spear routine. The spear is more than one foot long, and the diameter of the spear handle is about the thickness of an egg, also known as a large pole.

The eight-law spear was practiced vigorously and bravely, and every move and style paid attention to the practicality of technical strikes, and the actual combat significance was very strong. A full set of twenty-four movements, none of which is a flower stand. Therefore, in the past war years, the army often trained for fighting. The eight laws of the spear are mainly used to block, take, pierce, collapse, support, shake, entangle, and split eight characters.

Movement breakdown: hold the spear in your right hand and stand side by side, the spear stands vertically on the right side of the body, the end of the spear touches the ground, and the left hand naturally hangs down on the outside of the left leg and the eyes are level with the “face south” (Figure 1).

Points: Head straight, neck straight, mouth closed, lower palate slightly tucked.

Action decomposition: 1. Lift the spear with the right hand, extend the spear body to the left front with the assistance of the left hand, so that the spear head slowly touches the ground, and then slide the right hand back to hold the spear handle end, and bend the elbow of the left arm; The left palm is attached to the inside of the right wrist, and the chest is bent at the waist; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 2). 2. Take a step back with your right leg and bend your knee and squat, and your left foot is on tiptoe into a left imaginary step; The left arm is extended flat to the left, the left palm is shoulder-height and the wrist is bent, so that the palm fingers are facing forward, the mouth of the tiger is facing down, at the same time holding the spear handle in the right hand, dragging the spear to the right arm outstretched, and the right hand is shoulder-height; Look straight ahead (Figure 3).

Points: 1. The forward extension spear should be stable. 2. The tip of the spear does not leave the ground when the right arm is exhibited.

Carry the spear on the left

Action decomposition: the left hand is facing the tip of the spear, leaning forward to grasp the spear body, lifting the spear to the left, holding the spear to the outside of the left crotch with the left hand, so that the tip of the spear is pointed diagonally down the left side of the body; The right hand draws the spear to the upper right, the hand is slightly higher than the shoulder, and the body is slightly tilted to the left; Visualize the tip of the spear (Figures 4, 5).

Important: Pick the spear quickly, with the mouth facing forward and the spear in your forehand.

Action decomposition: 1. Take a step to the left with the left foot, bend the knees with both legs into a horse step, hold the spear handle in the right hand on the right waist side, the spear body is at the same height as the waist, twist the tip of the spear from the palm of the left hand up, so that the tip of the spear turns three times counterclockwise (diameter about chest width) from bottom, front, up and back; Visual tip (Fig. 6) 2. Continuous movement. Hold the spear in your left hand and raise it up, so that the spear body is raised diagonally to the upper left, the spear body is close to the chest, and the palm is facing down: at the same time, lift the left leg and bend the knee to buckle the gear, and step independently to the right; Look straight ahead (Figure 7). 3. Keep moving. The left foot lands in a large stride to the left front, and the legs are bent into a horse step; At the same time, the spear body splits the right hand to hold the spear handle at the base of the right thigh, and the left hand is shoulder height; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 8).

Points: 1. When winding the spear, the force should be calm, the back of the spear body should be close to the chest and waist, and the right hand should be slightly low, so that the spear and the person are one whole. 2. When lifting the spear up, inhale and hold the chest, lean forward slightly, and charge strength. 3. The lower split spear and the left step should be combined into a whole, exhale force, and reach the predecessor of the spear.

Action decomposition: 1. Take a step south with the right foot, bend the knee slightly, and stand upright on the upper body; At the same time, the tip of the spear is circled counterclockwise three times (diameter about chest width) from top to back, down and forward, the right hand is at waist height, the left arm is bent at elbow, and the left hand is shoulder height; Look to the left front (Figure 9). 2. Keep moving. The left foot is shaken to the right foot and the foot is shaken, and the body is upright; At the same time, the left and right hands turn the wrist upward, the spear body returns to the bar through the bottom forward, up and back, the spear body should be flat, the back of the right hand and the palm of the left hand are forward, and the hands are at shoulder height; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 10).

Points: 1. The spear should be calm and powerful. 2. The support spear should be formed with the left foot step and step to shake the foot, the force reaches the spear body, the right hand has downward pressure, the left hand has upward support, and the tip of the spear collapses upward.

Pick the grass to find snakes

Action decomposition: 1. Step back with the right foot; At the same time, the tip of the spear is cut clockwise from top to left and down (its circle diameter is about a person’s height), and the left hand is turned down into a spear action, with the palm facing back and the tip of the spear facing diagonally downward; The left leg is bent into a left high lunge; The right hand is shoulder-high. The left hand is hip-high; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 11). 2. Keep moving. The tip of the spear continues to stroke a semicircle backward to upward, while the center of gravity is shifted back, the right leg is slightly bent at the knee, the left foot is on tiptoe, the left palm is upwards to support the spear, the tip of the spear is diagonally up, the right hand holds the spear handle on the right waist side, and the left hand is slightly higher than the left shoulder; Look at the tip of the spear visually (Fig. 12), 3. Keep moving. Important: When winding the spear, the body of the spear should be close to the chest. The lower spear should be powerful, and the force should reach the predecessor of the spear.

Iron bull ploughed the land

Action decomposition: the left leg takes a big step forward, bends the knee into a left lunge, and the right leg is straight; At the same time, the left hand is rotated externally, the tip of the spear is jerked from the left back and bottom to the front of the right hand to the right shoulder at the same height, the palm is facing up, the left arm is extended straight out, and the tip of the spear is obliquely to the right front and bottom; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 14).

Points: The spear body is close to the chest, the right hand has a back pull, the left arm should have the strength of forward resistance, and the two forces should be combined.

Medium level spear

Action decomposition: 1. The left foot does not move, and the right foot takes half a step forward; Hold the spear up at chest height with both hands, turn the wrist up with the right hand and draw it back, and the left hand is flat with the arm, palm facing up, so that the tip of the spear is wrapped forward, up, and back counterclockwise around a semicircle with a diameter about shoulder width, called a blocking spear; The right leg is bent at the knee, the left leg is stretched diagonally, and the center of gravity is tilted to the right; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 15). 2. Keep moving. The center of gravity shifts into horse steps; At the same time, the right hand turns the wrist downward, the right hand rotates the wrist inward, and the palm is facing down, so that the tip of the spear is up, forward and down clockwise to press the spear, which is called holding the spear; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 16). 3. Pedal the right leg straight, buckle the toe, turn the upper body left to face east, and bend the left leg into a left lunge; At the same time, the right hand is pushed forward with a straight arm, so that the spear is stretched forward flatly, and the arms are shoulder height (facing east); Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 17).

Points: 1. These three movements must be coherent and compact, and the body of the spear must be close to the chest and waist. 2. The spear should be pricked with the root of the leg and reach the tip of the spear through the right arm. 3. The left hand must be flat and not shaken.

Same sleeve spear

Action decomposition: 1. The body does not move; Hold the spear handle in the right hand and pull it down and back with the left wrist, while holding the spear with the left hand and rotating the straight arm inward, hand at shoulder height, palm facing back, so that the front of the spear is crossed backward (facing east); Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 18). 2. Keep moving. The body is upright, the right foot is half a step forward, the toes are on the ground, and the right leg is straight; At the same time, draw the spear from under the left armpit with the right hand, flip the wrist to the upper right of the head, the hand is higher than the head, the left hand is rotated outward, the palm is up, the hand is shoulder height, and the spear body is shaken forward; Visual tip (face south) (Figure 19).

Points: 1. When the armpit drawing spear is drawn horizontally, the spear body and the left straight arm are closely connected, and the spear and the arm are one and should not be relaxed. 2. When shaking the spear outside, the shaking should be fierce, the spear should be far away from the body, and the force should reach the predecessor of the spear.

Yellow dragon bracket

Action decomposition: 1. Internal rotation of the left hand, palm downward straight arm pressing the spear, left hand at the same height as the crotch, right hand wrist internal rotation, hold the spear under the right shoulder; At the same time, the right foot is lifted and the inside of the foot touches the spear body; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 20). 2. Keep moving. The left leg presses the ground hard, so that the body jumps up in the air to change steps, and the right leg lands first forward; At the same time, the right-hand straight-arm push spear is pierced forward and upward, and the tip of the spear is slightly higher than the head; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 21). 3. Keep moving. The left foot then lands in front of the left, and the legs are bent into a horse’s step; At the same time, the right hand pullback spear handle is placed on the lower side of the right waist, and the left hand is split from the upper straight arm downward, and the hand is shoulder height; Visual tip (Figure 22).

Points: 1. Kick the spear and jump the spear to move flexibly. 2. When the horse steps down the splitting spear, it should be coordinated with the falling earthquake foot, and the force should reach the predecessor of the spear, and the force should be whole.

Dead tree packing

Action decomposition: the body turns slightly to the right, facing the southeast, then the left foot is inserted after the right leg, and both legs are bent and the knees are all squatted into a rest step; At the same time, the right hand draws the spear handle backwards, and counterclockwise winds the spear down, so that the tip of the spear is counterclockwise around a circle about chest width, the left hand slides forward to hold the spear body, and turns the wrist to make the tip of the spear collapse up, the palm of the left hand faces the left shoulder, the hand is at the same height as the shoulder, and the right hand is at the same height as the right crotch; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 23).

Point: The rest step is completed at the same time as the collapse spear, and the force reaches the tip of the spear.

Crossing Huashan (sweeping the thousand armies).

Action breakdown: 1, the upper body is upright, the left foot takes a step forward, then the right foot is covered with the left leg forward, the toe is skimmed outward, and the tip of the spear is wrapped clockwise with the footwork to the upper left (diameter is about one person high); Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 24). 2. Keep moving. Step horizontally with the left leg backward to the left and pedal straight, and bend the right leg into a right lunge; At the same time, the front body of the spear is split horizontally from the upper left back to the front and bottom, the left hand is straight and the arm is extended, the palm is facing down, Feng is knee-high, and the right hand holds the spear handle on the right waist; Visual tip (face south) (Figure 25).

Bottom line: Alignment with progress. The coffin is coordinated with the retreat step. The right hand retracts and the left hand splits to form a joint force, reaching the predecessor of the spear.

Open the door

Movement decomposition: step forward with the left foot, face due south, and squat into a horse step with both legs bent at the knee; The tip of the spear shakes the spear from the lower meridian to the upper left, the palm of the left hand is at hand and shoulder height, the palm of the right hand is turned down the wrist, the spear handle is pressed down, and the right hand is placed on the upper end of the right knee; and look at the tip of the spear (Figure 26).

Important: Press the right hand forward and down to form a combination with the left hand shaking back, and coordinate with the upper left foot. The action should be crisp and the force point should be accurate.

Open the door to the sky – pillar incense (sky-facing).

Action decomposition: 1. Upper body upright, right foot half a step to the south, leg slightly bent, left leg straight; The tip of the spear is arced counterclockwise from top to back and down, the right hand turns the wrist and twists the spear to draw the spear, the hand is shoulder height, the left hand is rotated externally, the palm is facing up, and the hand is at the same height as the crotch; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 27). 2. Keep moving. The left leg is followed by a half-step shaking foot, facing due south, and the legs are bent and squatted into a horse step; The tip of the spear is slashed upwards and shakes the spear so that the spear body is perpendicular to the ground, the right hand is slightly below the knee, the left hand is shoulder height, the back of the hand is facing forward, and the spear stands upright on the right chest and one palm away from the chest; Look visually to the left front (Figure 28).

Point: The shaking spear is carried out at the same time as the upstep foot shaking, and it is combined into a whole force.

Compass (Taigong fishing).

Action decomposition: the body stands upright and the chest is straight, the right foot is straight to the left foot, and the foot is shaken at the same time; The tip of the spear vibrates the spear from the bottom through the front side, the palm of the left hand is facing back, the hands are shoulder height, the spear body is raised flat on the chest, and the tip of the spear is facing the left; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 29).

Important: The foot shock and the lower shock spear are completed at the same time to form a whole force.

Movement breakdown: the right foot recedes to the west, and the left leg bends the knee and half squats into a left lunge; The right hand grip is raised above the head, push the spear handle to the left front and bottom of the spear, the left arm is extended, the left hand is shoulder height, the palm is facing up, the tip of the spear is pointed obliquely to the ground, and the foot is high from the ground; Visual tip (east face) (Figure 30).

Takeaway: The tip of the spear should try to lean forward.

Fuhu spear

Action decomposition: hold the spear with both hands, and at the same time flip the handle down and force to make the spear split from top to bottom, while the lower limbs do not move, the body leans forward, so that the barrel is close to the ground, the force reaches the front of the spear body, but the barrel does not touch the ground (flapping action), and the left palm is facing down; Visual spear predecessor (Figure 31).

Important: When pressing the splitting spear, force the front end of the barrel, but the tip of the spear must not touch the ground.

Step backwards

Movement decomposition: the left foot retreats behind the right leg, and the legs are bent and the knees are fully squatted into a rest; At the same time, wrap the spear counterclockwise with both hands, so that the tip of the spear is wrapped around a circle about the width of the chest, and then the right hand draws the spear back and presses down to make the tip collapse up, the right hand is placed in front of the right knee, the left arm is straight, and the left hand is shoulder height; Visually view the tip of the spear (facing northeast) (Figure 32).

Important: The movement of the spear should be consistent, and the right hand should have the power to retract when the spear is broken.

Action decomposition: 1. Kick the ground hard with the left foot to make the body jump in the air, and at the same time push the spear with the straight arm of the right hand to thrust the spear forward, so that the tip of the spear is slightly higher than the head (facing east); Visual tip (Figures 33, 34).

2. Keep moving. The right leg lands first, and the right hand draws the spear on the right waist (Figure 35).

3. Keep moving. The left foot lands in front of the left, and the two knees are bent and half squatted into horse steps; At the same time, the left hand is forcefully chopped downward, the left hand is shoulder height, the palm is facing down, and the right hand is on the right waist; Visual tip (east face) (Figure 36).

Points: 1. Jump up and shoot quickly.

2. The landing splitting spear should be completed at the same time as the left foot falling on the earthquake foot, and it should be combined into a whole.

Action decomposition: 1. Key points: 1. The three decomposition actions should be coherent and coordinated, and there should be no pause in the middle.

2. The spear body should be close to the body, and the operation of the spear should rotate with the waist.

Action decomposition: 1. Turn the body left; At the same time, hold the spear handle in the right hand and lift it up, hold the spear in the left hand and pull the spear straight arm with the spear to the left rear, the tip of the spear is about one foot high from the ground, the left hand is the same height as the crotch, and the palm is facing up; visual tip of the spear; The left leg is straightened, the left toe is outturned, and the right leg is slightly bent into a right high lunge (Figure 43).

2. Keep moving. Turn the upper body slightly to the right and keep the right leg in a high lunge; Hold the spear handle in the right hand, place it in front of the right shoulder, the spear body is close to the chest, hold the spear with the left hand straight arm, push the spear from back to front, so that the tip of the spear sweeps forward from the left back direction, and the spear tip moves the same distance as the legs. The tip of the spear is about one foot high from the ground, with the palm of the left hand facing upward; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 44).

Points: 1. When pulling the spear, the spear body must be close to the chest and left arm, and cannot be separated.

2. When dialing the spear front and back, the left leg can also coordinate with the spear, that is, when the spear is dialed forward, the left leg is retreated, and when the spear is dialed back, the left leg slides forward.

Same sleeve spear

Action decomposition: 1. Step forward half a step with the left leg, and bend the legs into a horse step; At the same time, hold the spear handle in the right hand, bend the elbow and draw the spear, twist the handle inside and rotate it on the right side of the chest, stretch the straight arm flat, and turn the wrist upwards, so that the palm of the hand is facing up, so that the tip of the spear is arced counterclockwise from front to up and backward (the diameter of the arc is about the width of the chest) to block the spear, both hands are at chest height, and the spear body is flat and close to the chest arm; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figures 45, 46).

2. The right leg takes half a step forward, the right knee is slightly bent into a right high lunge, and the left leg is straight; At the same time, the right hand draws the spear handle from under the left armpit, and shakes the wrist to the right front and upper of the head, and the hand is higher than the head. Points: 1. When holding the spear and drawing the spear after the straight arm, the spear body must be close to the chest or arm.

2. The shaking spear should reach the predecessor of the spear, and the strength should be whole.

Action decomposition: 1. Retreat half a step from the right rear of the body with the right foot out, tiptoe out, bend the knee and squat into a right high lunge, the left leg is straight, and the toe is outward; Hold the spear in the left hand straight and the arm is raised, the hand is high above the head, the palm is facing down, the right hand holds the spear handle, press down on the inside of the right knee, and lean back slightly; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 51).

2. Keep moving. The center of gravity is left Mu, the left leg is bent at the knee and half squatted, and the right leg is followed by a straight left high lunge; Hold the spear body in the left hand, split the straight arm with the palm facing down, the tip of the spear is about a foot high from the ground, hold the spear handle in the right hand, lift it on the right waist side, the spear body is close to the chest and abdomen, and the body is slightly leaned forward; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 52).

Points: 1. The action of picking and splitting the spear should be fierce and powerful, and the spear body should be close to the chest and abdomen and the body as a whole. 2. Repeat up and down three times continuously.

Medium level spear

Action decomposition: 1. Do not move the feet, bend the knee of the right leg, stretch the left leg diagonally | the center of gravity tilts to the right into a right high lunge; The right hand turns the wrist up and draws back, and the left hand pulls the spear forward with the straight arm of the hand, palm facing up, so that the tip of the spear is wrapped forward, up, and back counterclockwise around a semicircle with a diameter of about shoulder width, which is called a blocking spear; Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 53).

2. Keep moving. Move the center of gravity forward into a left lunge; At the same time, the right hand turns the wrist downward, the right hand rotates the wrist inward, and the palm is facing down, so that the tip of the spear is up, forward and down clockwise to press the spear, which is called holding the spear; Visually look at the tip of the spear (Figure 54).

3. Pedal the right leg straight, buckle the toe, push the right hand forward with the left lunge and the right hand straight forward, so that the spear is stretched forward flatly, and the arms are shoulder height (facing east); Visually view the tip of the spear (Figure 55).

Points: 1. These three movements must be coherent and compact, and the body of the spear must be close to the chest and waist.
