Shaolin Thirteen Grabs is said to have been created by Shaolin warrior monks in the Ming Dynasty to simulate the dynamics of dragons, phoenixes, tigers, leopards, snakes, cranes, monkeys, horses, eagles, rabbits, swallows, chickens, and oxen.
Shaolin Thirteen grasps loose hands, pays attention to grappling, unique moves, flexibility, strong combat ability, is a rare self-defense skill.
First, the green dragon probes the claws
The enemy steps up to the right and attacks our chest with his right fist; We immediately slap down the enemy’s right forearm or right wrist with our left claw to defuse his attack; At the same time, the right foot quickly advances forward, stepping on the enemy’s right instep, forcing the enemy’s attention to move down; Taking advantage of the pain in the enemy’s right foot and shifting his attention, our side quickly and violently pounced on the enemy’s face with our right claw; If the enemy throws his head back to dodge, our right claw grabs the enemy’s throat and severely damages the enemy (Figure 1).
Second, the white snake spits out the core
The enemy steps up to the right and attacks our head with his right palm; We quickly step up and right, block the enemy’s right palm with our left claw, and quickly squat down, kneel on the left knee, and slam the enemy’s crotch forward and upward with our right claw, and clasp our fingers to grab the enemy’s life root, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 2).
Third, the phoenix spreads its wings
With our left foot in front, we face the enemy in a left-hand fighting style; The enemy steps left into a left lunge, and hits us in the head with a right swing; Our right foot immediately retreats backwards, the upper body turns to the left and back, and squats downward, and the legs lunge right, dodging the enemy’s right swing fist while rotating the right claw inward and vigorously countering the enemy’s crotch forward and upward, and clasping the fingers to grab the enemy’s life root, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 3).
Fourth, the ape hangs upside down
Our side fights the enemy in a left-hand fighting style; The enemy punches us in the face with a straight right punch and kicks our abdomen with a left leg; Our left foot quickly retreats and turns 90 degrees to the left, the right foot is closed in the left foot, knees are bent and squatted, legs are in the right step, dodging the enemy’s up and down salvo; At the same time, the right claw is mounted to defend the enemy’s right fist, and the left claw is hooked backward to the enemy’s left ankle to defuse the enemy’s left leg attack (Figure 4), this move is called “ape upside down”.
“Ape upside down” is often used in combination with “Peeling the Clouds and Seeing the Sun” to fight back. Immediately after the ape hangs upside down, after our right paw spreads the enemy’s right leg, our right foot quickly steps up to the right side to the enemy’s crotch, and at the same time uses the right paw to grasp the enemy’s crotch life root backwards, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 5).

The enemy steps left into a left lunge, and at the same time hits our crotch and abdomen with a left fist; We jumped up and raised our left knee to protect our crotch and abdomen; The right claw falls and lunges forward with the body, and violently covers the enemy’s head or pounces on the enemy’s face, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 6)
6. Wild horses galloping
The enemy stepped up to the left and hit our abdomen with his right fist; We immediately hook the enemy’s right fist outward with our left claw, and at the same time slam our right foot on the shin or knee of the enemy’s left calf, taking advantage of the enemy’s trampled attention and shifting downward, we use our right claw to violently hit the enemy’s chin from the bottom up, and grab the enemy’s throat to subdue the enemy (Picture 7).

The enemy steps up to the left, legs into a left lunge, and attacks our chest with a straight left fist; I dodged to the outside of the enemy’s left arm, stepped with my legs in a right step, and grabbed the enemy’s left wrist with my left claw, and then we pulled the enemy’s left arm back and grabbed and tore the root of the enemy’s left ear from the outside in with my right claw (Figure 8).
8. White cranes with bright wings
Our right foot stands in front of us and confronts the enemy; The enemy’s right foot steps forward and kicks our right leg shin or knee with a low left kick; We immediately raise our right knee and turn to the left to dodge the enemy’s left kick, then lean forward to the right, protect the chest with our left paw, and peck the enemy’s eye or face with our right paw, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 9).
9. The demon eagle flashes
Our right foot stands in front of us, confronting the enemy; The enemy stepped up to the left, his legs were in a horse step, and he attacked our chest with a left punch; Our side immediately dodged to the right to dodge, while stepping forward with the right foot and stepping with the left heel, hooking the enemy’s left heel with the right foot, and at the same time grabbing the enemy’s left wrist with the left claw and pulling back to prevent the enemy from retreating and escaping; Immediately afterwards, our right claw quickly pierced out from under the enemy’s left armpit, and violently grabbed the enemy’s face to subdue the enemy (Figure 10).
10. Bull shakes its head
The enemy steps up to the left and smashes our head with his right fist; We immediately put our left claw on the frame and grabbed the enemy’s right wrist, then dragged the enemy’s right arm up and backward, and at the same time quickly stepped up and right to the outside of the enemy’s left leg, formed a right lunge with both legs, kicked the ground with the left leg violently, quickly shifted the center of gravity forward, and slammed forward with the enemy’s ribs and abdomen with the head or right shoulder, knocking the enemy out of the wound (Fig. 11).

XII. Swallows copy water
The enemy kicks our head with a high right whip leg; We immediately crouched and dodged, while hooking the enemy’s left heel with our left foot forward, forming a left step with our legs, while using our left claw to violently push back the enemy’s crotch and grab its life root, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 13).
XIII. The Golden Rooster Trembling
The enemy steps up to the left, legs in a left lunge, and punches our chest and abdomen with a right punch; Our side immediately slaps the enemy’s right fist with our left claw downwards to defuse its attack; At the same time, use the left leg to violently kick the enemy’s crotch, shake the wrist from top to bottom with the right paw, peck the enemy’s eye with the tip of the right claw or hit the top of the enemy’s head with the root of the claw, and attack up and down in unison, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 14).
