Jeet Kune Do leg method of blocking the door

Gate blocking kick is one of the most frequently used leg kicks in Jeet Kune Do. There are two main kicking methods:

Firstly, strike the enemy with the explosive power generated by the instant bouncing of the calves;

Secondly, use the kicking force of the thighs to push the calves to harm the enemy. It can be used as a low kick to intercept the opponent, as well as for active attacks and exploratory virtual moves to lure the enemy.


The main kicking areas are the bones and knee joints.

[Action Method]

Stand on the right stake. Move the center of gravity slightly forward, push the left foot onto the ground, and lift the knee diagonally to the left, causing the left foot to move forward through the inner side of the right leg, with the toes at a 45 degree angle to the ground. Slant to the left and push the lower leg diagonally downward (or quickly bounce the lower leg forward and kick it out), reaching the heel. (Figures 2-58 (1) (2) (3))

When kicking, the upper body should not lean too far back to avoid losing balance.


[Practical demonstration]

There is a confrontation between the enemy and ourselves. Before the opponent launched an attack, I directly kicked and hit the opponent’s knee joint. (Figures 2-59 (1) (2) (3))
