Jeet Kune Do hook kick specializing in head and neck

The hook kick is the quickest kick in Jeet Kune Do.

The hook kick is simple, concealed and extremely tricky when used. Often the opponent has not yet reacted, and the Jeet Kune Do’s movements have been completed.

When performing a hook kick, you can flexibly attack the opponent’s head, neck, ribs, abdomen and other key parts from medium distance.

Hook kick is an important kick in Jeet Kune Do, its hit rate is high, and in actual combat, the timing of hook kicks is much higher than other kicks.

First, hook head kick + side kick knee

Our left fighting style stands, the enemy stands in the right fighting style, and the enemy and friend face each other (Figure 1-1). We take the initiative to attack, step forward with our right foot, and then kick the enemy’s head with our high left leg (Figures 1-2). Immediately afterwards, the left foot does not land on the ground, and quickly changes to a left kick, kicking the knee joint of the enemy’s right leg to defeat the enemy (Figures 1-3).

Our left fighting style stands, the enemy stands in the right fighting style, and the enemy and friend face each other (Figure 2-1). Our side took the initiative to attack, suddenly attacking the enemy’s head with a high left hook (2-2). Immediately afterwards, the left foot falls forward, and at the same time, the enemy is crushed by striking the enemy in the abdomen with the upper hook of the right hand (Figure 2-3).

Third, rear dodge + hook kick

Our left fighting style stands, the enemy stands in right fighting style, and the enemy and friend face each other (Figure 3-1). The enemy attacks us in the face with a straight fist with his right hand; We immediately slid backwards and stepped back to dodge (Figure 3-2). Then, without waiting for the enemy to make a move, our right foot immediately stepped forward, and then quickly kicked the enemy’s head or neck with a high left hook to defeat the enemy (Figure 3-3).

Fourth, dial the defense + hook and kick the crotch

Both sides stand in a left-hand fighting style and confront each other (Figure 4-1). The enemy attacks our chest with a straight fist with his left hand; We use our right hand to block the defense inward, while stepping forward with our right foot and kicking the enemy’s crotch with our left leg, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 4-2).

5. Forehand feint + hook and kick

Both sides of the enemy stand in a left-fighting style and confront each other (Figure 5-1). Our right foot steps forward and closes, and at the same time feigns an attack on the enemy’s face with a straight fist with our left hand (forehand), forcing the enemy to defend the upper plate; Taking advantage of the enemy’s defensive attention to the upper set, our side quickly attacked the enemy’s abdominal key point with a hook with our left leg and defeated the enemy (Figure 5-2).
