“Finger poking is the most representative move of the palm finger technique in Jeet Kune Do, which is called “Marking Finger” in Wing Chun and “Piercing Hands” in Karate.
“Finger poke” is a long-range, concealed and fast attack technique. Due to its small focus area, fast speed and strong pressure, it has great destructive power on the throat and eyes of the enemy.
The following “Kung Fu Martial Arts Cool” will share 6 “finger poke” practical combat moves for you.
In the following icons, the person wearing the Chinese shirt is us, and the person wearing the shirt in the belt is the enemy.
First, kick the shin and poke the eye
Our side stands in a left-fighting style and the enemy stands in a right-hand fighting style, and the two sides face each other (Figure 1-1). We took the initiative to attack, feigning a fist in the enemy’s face with our left hand, forcing him to lean back and dodge and shift his attention upwards (Figures 1-2). Taking advantage of this opportunity, we used our left front kick to kick the enemy’s right calf shin violently, causing unbearable pain (Figures 1-3). Constantly moving upwards, we took advantage of the enemy’s lower shin kick and attention shifted, and quickly poked the enemy’s eye with his left hand, injuring him (Figures 1-4).
Second, block and poke the eye
Our side stands in a left fighting style and the enemy stands in a right fighting style, and the two sides face each other (Figure 2-1). The enemy attacks us with a right front kick; As soon as he got up, we quickly kicked the tibia of his right calf downwards with the heel of his left leg, causing pain (1-2). Constantly moving upward, our left foot falls forward and slides in, while quickly hitting the left poke finger to attack the enemy’s eye, injuring the enemy (Figures 1-3).
Third, poke the face and hit the abdomen
Our side stands in a left fighting style, and the enemy stands in a right fighting style, and the two sides face each other (Figure 3-1). We attack the enemy’s eye with a finger with our left hand, forcing the enemy to defend the upper plate and shift its attention upwards (Figure 3-2). Taking advantage of the enemy’s weak defense of the upper plate and weak protection of the middle plate, our feet quickly slid forward and approached, and at the same time slammed the solar plexus in the enemy’s abdomen with the upper hook of the right hand, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 3-3).
Fourth, pressure anti-poke throat
Our side stands in a left fighting style and the enemy stands in a right fighting style, and the two sides face each other (Figure 4-1). The enemy attacks our chest with a straight fist with his right hand; We immediately defuse the enemy’s right wrist or right forearm with our left palm downward (Figure 4-2). Moving upwards, we quickly slid forward and stepped forward, while striking the enemy’s throat with a finger with our right hand, injuring him (Figs. 4-3).
5. Feint side kick
Our side stands in a left fighting style, and the enemy stands in a right fighting style, and the two sides face each other (Figure 5-1). We poked our left hand in the face of the enemy to force it to defend (Figure 5-2). Taking advantage of the enemy’s weak defense in the upper and middle sets, our left foot quickly stepped forward, then violently kicked out the left leg, and kicked the enemy’s waist ribs with the left kick, injuring the enemy (Figure 5-3).
Sixth, the pursuit pokes the eye
The two sides scuffle each other at close quarters (Figure 6-1). After the enemy broke free and wanted to retreat to escape, we took this opportunity to quickly go up to the right and pursue, while at the same time poking the enemy’s eye with our left hand, wounding the enemy (Figure 6-1).
