“Straight to the middle door” is the most commonly used method in traditional martial arts. “Kung Fu Martial Arts Cool” today will share with you some knowledge of the “middle gate” in traditional martial arts and the tricks of “straight to the middle gate”.
1. What is the “middle gate”?
In martial arts fighting, if the enemy’s hands and feet are placed in a certain posture (based on the combat preparation style, other postures are changed from the combat preparation style), then the range between the arms is called “middle gate”, also called “middle palace”; The area between the feet is also called “Middle Palace” or “Hongmen”. In short, the space between the hands and feet is called “hollow” or “middle door”; The left and right sides of the hands and feet, called “partial doors”; The back part is called the “door of death” (Figure 1-1, Figure 1-2, Figure 1-3).
Second, why is the “middle gate” so important?
“Middle Gate” is a spatial range, in fact, traditional martial arts fighting is most particular about attacking the enemy’s “middle line”. The so-called middle line is equivalent to the Rendu line mentioned in martial arts qigong.
The leg method of the bullet leg in the chuanwu is almost always the leg method of attacking the enemy’s center line in a straight line, and the leg and leg take the enemy’s key points.
Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do also emphasizes the “midline principle”, an important reason is that the important organs and acupuncture points of the human body (such as eyebrows, nose bones, throat, human acupoints, Tiantu points, Tan Zhong points, Xinkan points, belly buttons. Dantian cave, crotch, etc.) and the center of gravity of the human body are close to the middle line, so both the enemy and we want to attack the middle line of the other side, and we must strictly guard the center line to avoid being attacked. Attacking from one’s own center line to the enemy’s center line is the shortest attack line, so it is the fastest; Moreover, since it is more difficult for the enemy to unload the force when hitting the center line, the attack effect is better, and the enemy needs to dodge the attack and also need a larger move, unlike when it is missed, it can be easily flashed.
You can understand how Bruce Lee attacked the enemy’s key points from the center line when attacking the enemy from the center line from the middle line from the past article published by this account in this article published by this account in the past Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do martial arts combat fake action actual combat use, luring the enemy to be exposed and hitting hard.
3. The classic “straight into the middle door” fighting move in traditional martial arts hand-to-hand combat
Hand-to-hand grappling or scuffling is not only a frequent occurrence in folk fights in the past, but also in modern street fights.
1. The tiger climbs the mountain hard
Both sides stand in a left-wing fighting style and confront each other. The enemy slid forward and punched us in the face with a straight left punch (Figure 2-1). We immediately block the outside of the enemy’s left forearm with our left forearm, putting the enemy in a back position (Figure 2-2). Immediately after the upward movement, our side slammed the left side of the enemy’s head with a right swing fist, and at the same time kicked the shin of the enemy’s left calf with the right leg, attacking up and down in unison, making the enemy difficult to take care of up and down (Fig. 2-3). Taking advantage of the enemy’s slow reaction due to being busy defending or being hit by our side, our right foot quickly falls forward, the left foot advances under the enemy’s crotch, turns right, strides with both legs, and breaks into the enemy’s “middle gate”; At the same time, the right fist swings backward to the right to assist, and the left elbow violently hits the enemy’s heart socket (Figure 2-4). Immediately after the upward movement, I turned 90 degrees to the left and attacked the enemy’s jaw at the center line with a right hook, while slamming the enemy’s crotch and abdomen at the center line with my right knee forward and upward, attacking up and down in unison, and severely damaging the enemy (Figures 2-5).
2. Ox arrives
Enemies and friends are entangled and scuffled; Our left foot advances forward, inserting into the enemy’s “middle door”, while grabbing the enemy’s collar with both hands forward and pushing forward, intending to push the enemy (Figure 3-1). If the enemy is pushed, if unprepared, he will fall backwards; If the enemy is prepared, he will push forward, and at this time, with the help of the enemy’s push back, our hands will violently pull back, and at the same time slam forward with the forehead of the enemy’s nose at the center line, knocking it into the face (Fig. 3-2).
3. Rats sneak
When the enemy and ourselves confront each other, our side suddenly steps forward with our left foot, inserts into the enemy’s “middle door”, and quickly follows with our right foot, while our body hits the enemy’s body forward as a whole, and the enemy will fall (Figure 4).
4. Iron door latch
Both sides of the enemy stand in a left-fighting style and confront each other. The enemy slides forward and slid forward, while attacking our face with a straight right fist; Our left foot immediately takes a step back and turns left, facing the enemy sideways, dodging the enemy’s right fist peak; At the same time, we use our right forearm to block the enemy’s right forearm to the left, defusing his right fist attack (Figure 5-1). The enemy then strikes us in the face again with a straight left fist, and we block the enemy’s left forearm with our right forearm to the right to neutralize the attack of their left fist (Figure 5-2). Immediately after the upward movement, taking advantage of the opportunity when the enemy’s left and right hands were opened by our side and the “middle door” was wide open, our feet quickly slid forward, broke into the enemy’s “middle door”, close to the enemy, and at the same time the right elbow arced from top to bottom and forward to smash the enemy’s face located in the center line, starting from the bridge of the nose and sliding to the enemy’s heart socket (Fig. 5-3, Fig. 5-4), at which time the back of our right fist can slam the enemy’s nose bridge again and hit the enemy hard.
5. Flame drill core
In the entanglement between the enemy and us, our left foot steps towards the enemy’s “middle gate”, and at the same time turns sideways, shoulder forward, and the right hand extends forward from the left shoulder, grabs the enemy’s collar, and pushes the enemy forward; At the same time, the left hand is extended as far to the right (back) as possible to charge the force (Figure 6-1). After the move, the enemy is pushed to lean forward with force, the center of gravity moves forward, and our side takes advantage of the situation to jerk back with our right hand, forcing the enemy’s body to pounce forward weightlessly; At this time, our body sank into a horse’s step, our left arm bent our elbow, and we slammed the tip of our elbow forward into the enemy’s heart socket, severely damaging the enemy (Figure 6-2).
6. Ghost fire stirs the sky
Both sides stand in a left-wing fighting style and confront each other. “We slide forward with both feet, turn our bodies to the right, step under the enemy’s crotch with our left foot, break into the enemy’s “middle door”, and then sink our bodies and bend our legs into horse steps (Figure 7-1). Immediately after the upward movement, the enemy wants to retreat backwards to escape, our feet are straight, the upper body is straight, and with the help of the upper body straight up, the left arm is bent at the elbow, and the bottom of the elbow is used to violently provoke the enemy’s lower jaw located in the center line from the bottom up (Figure 7-2). If the enemy reacts very quickly, when we swing our elbows, step back and lean back to avoid our left elbow, at which point we will hit the bridge of the enemy’s nose at the center line with a left split palm or a left-flip back fist (Fig. 7-3). You can also “play pearls with two dragons” to win the enemy’s eyes, but this trick is too vicious and needs to be used carefully!
7. Bull shakes its head
Both sides of the enemy stand in a left-fighting style and confront each other. Our side takes the initiative to attack, sliding forward with both feet and stepping into the body, stepping up to the enemy’s crotch with the left foot, and breaking into the enemy’s “middle door” with the upper body; At the same time, we put our left hand straight down in front of the left knee, vigorously hit the enemy’s crotch, lean forward on the left side of the upper body, slam the enemy’s chest with the left shoulder, and throw the head to the left front side to swing the enemy’s nose bridge. In this move, our hands are pulled to the crotch, shoulders are rested on the chest, and the head is hit on the nose, and the enemy is severely damaged in three prongs (Figure 8).
