Choy Li Fut Fist is a famous Guangdong Southern Boxing style, which combines the essence of the three types of boxing techniques of Cai, Li and Buddhism. On June 7, 2008, Choy Li FutFist was approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
This boxing technique is mainly based on fists, palms, and bridges. The palm techniques of Choy Li Fut Fist include insertion, brake, brake, bracing, splitting, pushing, supporting, erasing, throwing, and picking. In actual combat, the combination of palm techniques is varied, richer and more fierce than fists.
“Kung Fu Wushu Cool” has compiled a set of 5 sets of Choy Li FutFist practical palm techniques to share with you.
First, progress brake palm + continuous palm support
1. Our (left) stands with a left imaginary step and a left protective palm, and the enemy stands in a right fighting style; the two sides confront each other (Figure 1);
2. The enemy slides forward and closes, and at the same time attacks our head with a right swing fist; Our side immediately steps up to the left and closes, and at the same time brakes forward and left with the left palm, that is, using the outer edge of the left palm to split the enemy’s front and left while blocking the enemy’s right forearm with the left forearm to the left (Figure 2). The brake palm is a palm method that is both offensive and defensive, which blocks the enemy’s lateral attack while splitting the enemy horizontally, and defending against the middle and fighting.
3. When the upward movement is non-stop, when the enemy is disrupted by our “progressive brake”, the right leg immediately steps up and squats, and slams the enemy’s abdomen or ribs with the left riding dragon step and the right palm (the outer edge of the palm) (Figure 3);
4. Immediately after the upward movement, while the enemy is hit in the abdomen and bending down and bowing his head, our right foot quickly steps up, gets up and slams the bridge of the enemy’s nose with the left palm (outer edge of the palm) (Picture 4).
Second, build bridges and wipe palms + put hands in the palms
1. Our side (the right) stands with the right imaginary step and the right protective palm, and the enemy stands in the right fighting style; confrontation between the two sides (Figure 5);
2. The enemy slides forward and attacks our head with a right straight fist; Our side immediately blocked the enemy’s right forearm with the right forearm, so that the enemy was in a back position and the left hand could not attack (Figure 6);
3. Without stopping, our side immediately slides forward and closes, clasps the enemy’s right foot with its right foot (to prevent it from attacking with its legs or knees, and also prevents it from retreating backwards to escape), and at the same time quickly slams the enemy’s right waist kidney or ribs with horse steps and right palm (Figure 7);
4. While the enemy is being hit, our side continues to pursue, quickly turning to the right, while tapping down the enemy’s right forearm with the left palm to seal its attack line, and inserting the enemy’s front or throat with the right palm (Figure 8).
Third, the panqiao support palm + the upper step support push
1. Our side (the left) stands with the right imaginary step and the right protective palm, and the enemy stands in the right fighting style; the confrontation between the two sides (Figure 9);
2. The enemy slides forward and attacks the abdomen of our middle plate with a right straight fist; We immediately defuse the enemy’s right fist or right forearm with our right palm downward (Figure 10);
3. Without stopping, we immediately step up and right closely, and continue to seal the enemy’s right arm downward with the left palm for the right palm; At the same time, with the help of our forward and close momentum, use the right palm (with the outer edge of the palm and the base of the palm as the force point) to support the enemy’s lower jaw or facial nose bridge upwards and forward (Fig. 11);
4. Immediately after the upward movement, while the enemy is hit and leans back, our side quickly clasps the enemy’s right foot with its left foot to prevent him from retreating; At the same time, quickly push the enemy’s abdomen or ribs with the horse’s left palm (using the outer edge of the palm and the base of the palm as the force point) to knock him down (Figure 12).
Fourth, arm the hand to split the palm + step up and throw the palm
1. Our side (the right) stands with a left imaginary step and a left protective palm, and the enemy stands in a left fighting style; confrontation between the two sides (Figure 13);
2. The enemy steps up to the left and attacks our side with a straight left fist; We immediately dodged to the right side, while using our left hand to block its left forearm outward and grab the enemy’s left wrist; Immediately, we pull the enemy’s left arm to our lower left, while the tip of the left foot is abducted, quickly twist to the left, and with the help of the force of twisting, use the outer edge of the right palm to violently split the enemy’s left neck artery or left ear root (Fig. 14);
3. Without stopping, our side quickly steps up to the right and approaches, and stumbles the enemy’s left leg with our right leg to prevent him from retreating and escaping; Our right forearm then picks up the enemy’s left forearm to seal its attack route, while throwing (prodding) the enemy’s abdomen or lower body with the palm palm facing forward and the tip of the palm facing downward (Figure 15).
5. Bridge interception + double push palm on the upper step
1. Our side (the left) stands with the right imaginary step and the right protective palm, and the enemy stands in the left fighting style; confrontation between the two sides (Figure 16);
2. The enemy’s right foot steps forward, and sweeps our right waist rib with the left whip leg; We quickly twist to the right, and at the same time use the ulna of the right forearm as a force point to sharply cut the enemy’s left calf tibia or instep or ankle to intercept the enemy’s left whip (Figure 17);
3. Without stopping, our side quickly steps up to the left and closes, and at the same time, while taking advantage of the enemy’s left leg not gaining a firm foothold, we push the enemy forward with both palms and slam the enemy’s chest or ribs to knock the enemy down (Figure 18).
