The basic movements of Guji

A pose:

The basic postures of the fixation technique are one knee and supine position.


Kneeling position on one knee:

Kneel on one knee on the mat with the toe on the mat and the other leg bent over the mat with the upper body straight (Fig. 14).

Supine position:

The supine position consists of a cushion on the back, chest flexion arms between the ribs, and legs bent at the knee (Figure 15).

B Body Movement:

In tripping attack and defense techniques, the body’s movement methods include: body movement, dodge, reverse arch, supine bending, sideways dodge, rib clamping, leg looping, etc.

(1) Mobile:

Kneeling on one knee forward and backward. Turn left and right in the supine position, moving your shoulders and feet towards your head or toes.

(2) Twist the waist (Figure 16):

Straight-arm push-up, legs apart, twist to the left and right.

(3) Dodge (Figure 17):

Straight-arm push-ups, twist the waist, quickly alternate the feet, and do the waist twisting exercise.

(4) Ribs (Figure 18):

Lie on your stomach with your arms straight forward, pulling back while pulling your body forward to make a rib clamping motion.

(5) The body is formed into a reverse arch (Figures 19, 20):

Straight-arm push-ups, hip lifts straight arms back, then hips drop chest against the mat, and push back into a reverse arch. In addition, start with the back of the supine with the feet and shoulders and head supported into a reverse arch.

(6) Dodge sideways (Figure 21):

Lie on your back, use your feet and shoulders to force your abdomen, press your arms down, and turn your body sideways so that your body bends like a shrimp.

(7) Supine fold (Figure 22):

Lie on your back with your legs tucked up and above your head, with your toes on a cushion above your head.

(8) Leg loop (Figure 23):

Lie on your back, split your legs up, knees slightly bent, alternately do an inward and outward loop.

(9) Leg stretching exercises (Figure 24):

Lie on your back, bend your knees, and alternately press and pull your heels along the mat.

Points to note in the guidance:

(1) Repeat the big movement exercise.

(2) Each maneuver and dodge action, the use of different situations, should be understood and guided by the students.

C Simple ways to enter and fall back:

In Guji, there are methods to restrain the entry of both legs and the entry of one leg. There are ways to fall back after being restrained by the leg, and the simple method is to fall backwards in the direction of one’s body and head (Figure 25).
