Sometimes, no matter how well you control your timing and moves, it’s hard to rely on a one-shot attack to inflict fatal damage. So, then you need to use another way to change the situation. This method is called Attack By Combination.
The Jeet Kune Do combination attack is the most versatile attack method in the five attack methods, which mainly involves two or more attacks as a whole to attack different key parts of the opponent.
Once launched, this attack is like submachine gun fire, with no interruption in the movement. Combo attacks can be simple with manipulative or legged attacks, or with a combination of hands and feet. Effectively grasp the body’s balance and movement joints during dynamic processes
How to use the opponent’s posture changes in time to continue the attack will be the key points for the combination attack to be effective. Here are some examples of combinations that often occur in combo attacks, for reference:
1. Boxing combination
1. Right fist technique combination
[Practical Demonstration]
Confrontation between enemies and us. I punched my opponent on the head with a straight right rush, and after being parried, I then spun around and hit him in the jaw with a right hook. (Fig. 3-10(1)(2)(3))
[Note]
When performing a combination strike with a pure right fist, pay attention to the relaxation of the arm and learn to use the first punch to recycle and then use the elasticity of the arm to punch the second punch.
2. Two-fist technique combination
[Practical Demonstration]
Confrontation between enemies and us. I pushed closer, punched the opponent on the head with a straight right thrust, then rotated the ground with my left foot, turned my waist and buckled my shoulders and punched the opponent on the head again with a straight left punch. (Fig. 3-11(1)(2)(3))
[Note]
When using both fists for combined strikes, care should be taken to use the twisting of the body and the forward and backward conversion of the center of gravity to drive the punch, and when punching, the other punch should cooperate to do a good defense.
