In combat combat, the use of elbow strikes can attack and defend, can top the chest and abdomen, fold elbows, smash the back of the neck, hit the head, see stitches, unpredictable, especially in close combat, elbow strikes can exert great power.
Compiled 12 sets of classic elbow strikes in the traditional Chinese martial art Wuxingtong Back Fist and shared them with you.
In the following icons, the one in white is the enemy and the one in black is us.
First, the top elbow with the strap
The enemy attacks our face with a right lunge and a straight left fist; Our body immediately retracted to dodge his left fist attack, then grabbed the enemy’s left wrist with his right hand and brought it back, while advancing left and turning right into a horse step, and slamming the enemy’s heart pit with his left elbow (Picture 1).
Second, swing the elbow with the strap
The enemy attacks our upper set with a straight right fist in the upper right step, and we block with our left hand and grab his right wrist and pull the strap to the lower left, while stepping up and right closely, twisting sharply to the left, and swinging the enemy’s jaw with the right elbow (Picture 2).
Third, progress hits the elbow
Both sides stand and confront each other in a left-hand fighting style; The enemy attacks our head with a straight left fist; We immediately dived to dodge, while sliding forward, getting close, and hitting the enemy’s ribs forward with our left elbow (Figure 3).
Fourth, don’t elbow and pounce
The enemy moves up to the right and attacks our upper plate with a right swing fist; We immediately block the defense with our left arm and grab the enemy’s right wrist with our left hand, then step up and right to the outside of the enemy’s right leg to pin the enemy’s right leg, and at the same time hit the enemy in the ribs with our right elbow, knocking the enemy to the ground (Figure 4).
5. Push your elbows
The enemy strikes our chest with a straight left fist in the right step; We immediately dodged by sliding forward to the right, while grabbing the enemy’s right wrist with our left hand and bringing it back to straighten the enemy’s right arm, then twisting to the left, and using the force of twisting, we pushed the enemy’s right elbow joint with the right elbow force, causing it to run against the joint and injured it (Figure 5).
6. Grab your wrists
This move is connected to the upper form (5. Diao wrist push elbow); We continued to hold the enemy’s right arm, and while the enemy’s right elbow was injured and aching, we used our right elbow to hit the enemy’s jaw from top to bottom (Fig. 6).
7. Chest and elbows
The enemy punched me in the chest with his right fist; Our side immediately closed our chests and abdomen, turned to the right to dodge the attack of the enemy’s right fist; Then vigorously slam the enemy’s right forearm inward with the right forearm, and at the same time use the left forearm to smash outward on the right forearm at the upper end of the enemy’s right elbow joint, breaking the enemy’s right elbow joint with the opposite force of both elbows (Figure 7).

8. Smash the elbow with the leg
The enemy slammed our upper plate with his right whip leg; We immediately turned around and supported the enemy’s leg with our left elbow upwards, and then smashed the enemy’s thigh from top to bottom with our right elbow (Figure 8).
9. Face the elbow to block
The enemy strikes our head with a straight left fist in the right step; We immediately dived to dodge, while sliding forward and approaching, using our right elbow to meet the enemy’s chest and abdomen point, and severely damaged the enemy (Figure 9).
10. Press down and smash the elbow
The enemy stepped up and hugged my left leg closely, trying to carry out the move of holding my leg and throwing it; We quickly pressed the enemy’s back with our left palm and slammed our right elbow into the enemy’s back from top to bottom (Fig. 10).
11. Turn around and turn your elbow back
The enemy locked my neck with his right arm from behind our back (Figure 11); We immediately turned to the left and counterattacked the enemy’s chest and abdomen with our left elbow, while extending our right arm forward to free the enemy’s neck (Figure 12).
XII. Horse steps to the elbow
Our side confronted the enemy in a left-fighting style; The enemy strides up and right, swings right and punches me in the head; We immediately dived downwards to dodge, then approached and turned to the right into horse steps, while pressing the enemy’s ribs with our right elbow (Figure 13).
