Muay Thai’s leg-breaking technique is generally used after defensive moves. Muay Thai’s defensive techniques mainly include blocking, dodging, interception, and stealing.
Blocking is the use of hard parts of the upper and lower limbs of the body (such as elbows, knees) and the weak links of the legs to weaken the enemy’s attack; Dodging is to make the enemy’s legs empty; Interception is to hit the knee joint or inner thigh of the leg with the tip of the knee, to rigidize and harden; Grabbing is to grab or clamp the enemy’s legs after blocking their legs to contain their offensive.
Leg-breaking counterattacks must be based on defense, and corresponding moves must be used to carry out effective counterattacks.
